Our Methodology

How We Structure Educational Sessions

Every Willkeep programme follows the same underlying methodology: present general information first, allow time for questions and reflection, then move to practical application with materials participants keep.

We do not begin with individual situations. We begin with how record organisation generally works — what categories of documents are typically important, how systems are usually arranged, and where common difficulties tend to arise. From that shared foundation, participants apply the framework to their own context.

The approach keeps sessions educational in the truest sense: transferring knowledge, not directing decisions.

Knowledge First

General principles before personal application

Open Questions

Participants shape the session through their questions

Practical Materials

Templates and checklists to take away and use

No Pressure to Act

Participants decide what to do with what they learn

Programme 1

Estate-Organisation Orientation

A plain-language seminar explaining how families generally organise personal and household records, and what categories of paperwork commonly matter. Purely educational, with no individual advice provided. Participants leave with a take-home organisation checklist covering the categories discussed.

This is the right starting point for anyone who has not yet thought through what records they hold, where those records are kept, or what would happen if someone else needed to locate them quickly.

  • Overview of common personal record categories (property, identity, financial accounts, insurance, and more)
  • Introduction to simple organisational approaches used by households
  • Discussion of common gaps — records people realise they are missing or cannot locate
  • Take-home organisation checklist with over forty record categories

Programme 2

Records & Document Cataloguing Workshop

A practical, administrative session on listing, labelling, and safely storing important family records and heirloom information. Focused entirely on organisation and record-keeping — not on the legal or financial meaning of those records. Includes reusable inventory templates.

Suitable for participants who have already identified their main record categories and want to work through the process of cataloguing, labelling, and setting up an accessible system.

  • Step-by-step methodology for listing and labelling household records
  • Guidance on physical and digital storage approaches and their relative accessibility
  • Heirloom and sentimental item cataloguing — how other households approach this
  • Reusable inventory templates compatible with physical and digital record types

Programme 3 · B2B

Family-Business Continuity Information Programme

A structured educational programme that helps family-run companies discuss continuity and succession of roles and processes in an organised, communicative way. This programme covers planning conversations and process documentation only — not individual entitlement matters, ownership transfer, or regulated corporate governance.

Delivered across two half-days to allow reflection time between sessions. Includes facilitation materials that the business can continue to use after the programme concludes.

  • Frameworks for structured internal conversations about roles and responsibilities
  • Process documentation approaches — how other family businesses organise this information
  • Communication tools for raising continuity topics within a family team
  • Facilitation materials for ongoing internal use after the programme
